The VooDoo FolliesComplete 1st Series
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, VoooDoo Priestess in training.
You may be asking yourself what a person has to do to become a voodoo priestess. I'm beginning to ask myself why I even bothered down that path. You see, I come from a long line of voodoo practitioners, but that doesn't mean they simply hand me the title. I have to earn it by successfully completing specific tasks. Unfortunately for me, and everyone I hang around too long, I tend to screw things up a bit where magic is concerned. Then, I get the not so wonderful tasks of cleaning up after myself. My magical malfunctions aren't all bad, they brought me to some new friends, some living - some dead, and those who were more trouble than they were worth! Join me on my journey. I can't promise everything will go smoothly, but I can guarantee that you will at least be entertained! |

The VooDoo Follies: Part One
I am Seraphine LaLande, VooDoo Priestess! Well, not quite. In order to be a priestess I have to first successfully raise a zombie, make it do my bidding, and then tuck it back in for the eternal dirt nap it was supposed to have to begin with. Of course, being me, things don’t go according to plan. The trouble all started when my zombie ran off into the night... |
The InfectionPart Two
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, and I have a zombie to find and put to rest. The only problem is I have no clue where the dead bum took off to. Finding him is not proving as easy as I had hoped and to make matters worse, I am grounded for having a boy in my bedroom!
Stephen was my only hope for tracking down this zombie, but now I wonder if the price we had to pay was worth it. The secret Stephen revealed to me, well let's just say, it's hard to know how I feel now! |
The UnknownPart Three
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, voodoo priestess in training, and last week I avoided the zombie apocalypse with my friend's help. Now I just have to figure out what to do about Stephen, his condition, and my growing feelings for him.
Things appeared to be getting back to normal until I ran into my principal at school, literally, and met the new guy. A couple weeks ago I was invisible to everyone, now both the dead and the living were suddenly interested in me... |
The WitchPart Four
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, voodoo priestess in training...
Fat lot of good that does me when my best friend, who happens to be dead, is nowhere to be found; the living boy of my dreams is now my number one tormentor; and now there's a witch who wants to meddle in my love life. One stupid spell really can't be all that bad can it? |
The LovePart Five
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, voodoo priestess in training, and every day I wonder what good my voodoo does for me when I'm afraid to use it.
Between the zombies and the Unknown Spirits, Voodoo has definitely given me an adventurous life, a little too adventurous. As usual though, just when every thing seems to be coming together for me, I get tossed right back in the middle of something even scarier than before. Now, I have to help my friend, Tina. That witch cast a spell that's put us all in danger. And did I mention the vampire? No? Well, guess who has to get us out of this mess? Yep, yours truly - and this time it definitely wasn't my fault! |
The CeremonyPart Six
|
I am Seraphine LaLande, and I am no longer in training. My ceremony is set. I will ascend to the ranks of Voodoo Priestess,, and then I will help one of the boys I love gain a body while allowing the other to shed his completely.
My heart is still torn between Stephen and Trevor. The Voodoo ritual that will set them both free is also a constant in my thoughts. If I mess this one up, there won't be any going back. I could lose them both, forever. I could lose them anyway, thanks to my meddling in the affairs of a vampire. Now, he's hell bent on destroying the one thing that will make this ritual go off without a hitch. All I keep thinking is, 'how will I live with myself if this doesn't work?' Maybe the better question would have been, what happens if I don't live through this? |

VOICES (ANTHOLOGY: "The Voices Within" by Christine M. Butler; "Disturbed" by Peggy Randall-Martin; "The Back Lot" by J. M. Tresaugue
At some point in each of our lives, most of us have experienced extrasensory fear - whether it was brought about by personal events, a movie on the widescreen, a television program or series, exchanging scary stories with our friends, or reading a tale told on the written page. As you know, many of those experiences were capable of staying the test of time. Hitchcock's "Psycho" forever took care of my taking a shower in a motel room - especially if the stall had a curtain. The tried and true masters of fear are established in our minds, and we believe that time spent with their works will give us the chills and thrills we are looking for. However, the world continues to revolve and change, and the 21st Century has spawned new talent with fresh blood and tales with haunting twists and turns that assuage that need, that desire for a tingling in your spine, the feeling of some one or some thing creeping up behind you, or the need to have the lights on when you close your eyes at night. Along with my co-authors of the Voices Anthology and our never before told paranormal stories, I believe we have created that atmosphere. Whether it is the middle of the day or a dark starry night, during calm weather or a turbulent storm, if you are in the mood to be afraid and aren't wary of tales from beyond, your answer for fear is, Voices ... written for you by Christine M. Butler, Peggy Randall-Martin and J. M. Tresaugue. |

This novelette is available now, but will become a full length novel (as a part of The Alpha Chronicles) in July 2013. Cover reveal for the full length novel is coming soon...
Josh has plans for his one year anniversary with girlfriend, Libby. As their dinner comes to an end, and night closes in, Josh begins to hear voices that no one else can hear. Libby is forced to get Josh's mom, Patricia, involved when she hears him talking about attacking a boy. Patricia, having been a nurse at the local hospital's psychiatric ward for years, calls on her doctor friend for help. Josh is diagnosed with schizophrenia, and placed on medications to control his episodes. The medications seemed to do the trick, because he stops hearing the voices two days after being admitted in the hospital. One month later, on another date with Libby, Josh begins to hear the voices again. This time, as Josh repeats to Libby what the voices are saying, she begins to understand that there is more to Josh's condition than doctors could ever explain. Libby sets out to prove that Josh really isn't crazy, and that there are forces at work inside of Josh, that while unbelievable, will explain the voices he has been hearing. If she can time it just right, she may be able to prove just that, without getting herself killed in the process. |
This novel, the first full length novel in The Alpha Chronicles, will be available in May 2013.
"It wasn't enough that he took all of our lives. It was a part of his game that he had to win our hearts first. My love for him didn't matter in the end. Love him or hate him, my fate was still the same. I was the girl lying face down in an ally, in a puddle of my own blood, dead at dawn. I'm getting a little ahead of myself though. My ride into hell didn't start with my death. It was a slow decent before that, and it's important, so here goes nothing..." ~ Eva LaRue |
What's Next in Novels?
Love Eternal
While sitting in the park one fine afternoon, I tell my son that I want to do a werewolf story for NaNoWriMo and he comes up with this fantastic idea. So, I took his idea, expanded on it, and will start writing Nov. 1, 2011. Wish us luck! As you can see, we already have a working cover for inspiration.
This got put aside for a while, due to other projects and life, but it will be back in the works in 2013! |
